Learn the creative intracies of balloon artistry at the upcoming 'Balloons in Bloom' workshop event presented by Blondie Balloons
Jasmine Becnel, owner of Blondie Balloons, will be teaching balloon art techniques at her first workshop event, ‘Balloons in Bloom’.
Jasmine Becnel, "Picasso" of balloon art and owner of Blondie Balloons, will be hosting the first creative balloon workshop in our area, ‘Balloons in Bloom’. She will be teaching the basics and intricacies of balloon design on August 29th, 2025 (Friday) from 10am to 5pm.
Lunch, swag bags, knowledge, fun, and “creative courses” will be served at the venue sponsor, Rendezvous, located in Thibodaux.
Knowledge and creative styles will fully bloom in everyone’s “balloon bouquet”, beginners and experienced balloon artists alike.
“I hope everyone leaves the class feeling like they learned enough to go forward and get creative. I also want them to leave knowing they can do anything they set their mind to as long as they have determination and patience,” Jasmine said.
Some of those knowledgeable and creative techniques include fabrication of garlands, how to create columns/ pillars, installation of garlands, creating a balloon wall, twisting flowers (stems and leaves), distortion, and more technicalities.
Jasmine is enthusiastic in presenting all the attending balloon artists with “flowers” of inventive power to ultimately become visionaries of their craft.
“Earlier this year we attended ‘Balloonathon’ in Chicago. Alexis and I had so much fun. We learned a lot and took home inspiration to create new things!” Jasmine exclaimed.
Since Jasmine and her sister, Alexis, were gifted with “flowers” of inspiration, detailed education, and a “full vase” of camaraderie, Jasmine also wants to offer the same opportunity to South Louisiana balloon "Picassos".
“We met so many wonderful people while we were there who we still keep in contact with on social media. There aren’t any educational programs for our industry in Louisiana that I’m aware of. So, we are hoping to bring home the educational opportunity as well as the wonderful sense of camaraderie in the balloon industry,” Jasmine explained.
Therefore, attend Jasmine’s workshop event ‘Balloons in Bloom’ at 207 East Bayou Road in Thibodaux to gain experience in balloon basics and intricacies. She will present you with a “bouquet” of powerful abilities and creative ideas. Attendees will ultimately “bloom” as a skillful balloon artist while others cheer in the background.
“I want the atmosphere to be fun! I want people to leave with a smile. I’m hoping the class feels inspiring as well. I hope the attendees leave with creative ideas turning in their heads or how they can start their journey in the balloon industry,” Jasmine ended.
